Yes, interesting observation! Just different forms of social virtualisation.
shareYes, exactly.
shareJust look at the zombies in trains or subways, their eyes glued to their tiny phones' screen, frantically moving their fingers on its surface, oblivious to anything that happens around them, and you realize we're almost there...

share Not Facebook specifically, but texting in general. People (especially younger people) seem to live their lives now by constantly communicating on handheld devices.
Like a generation of drones.
If they're communicating with other people then they're not really drones. More like gods really. Really inane gods.

No Facebook isn't like surrogates. Its just a form of communication. You aren't living an alternative life like the surrogates do, and neither are you functioning in anyway through Facebook.
The surrogates is similar to the lives of addictive online gamers. They are living a whole different life that functions on its own with its own set of rules of living. Where people loose the grape of reality and live in bubbles.

Exactly like those whose Facebook persona is stronger than the individual
I don't mind people sitting on a train, but if there is someone walking down the street with their eyes glued to their phone, I will make NO attempt to move out of the way. So annoying, especially at the airport. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS!
shareIt seems that this movie can be seen as a satire on internet and smartphone and facebook culture. I am not sure if that is the intent.

What do you think this movie message is then ... of course its like it, just a different platform and way exagerated but same effect.

I think it's worse, actually. Facebook allows people to be many different personalities, where this would be very cost prohibitive.
