The conversation scene was certainly the 'climax' of the film given how afterwards the film draws towards conclusion with the hunger strike. It is a phenomenal achievement and a true testament to great acting. To skip any of it feels like such a waste, this level of film-making is rarely seen nowadays with many Hollywood films. My one flaw with the scene is that it took me out of the film given that Fassbender speaks so little in the scenes preceding and succeeding this one and yet he speaks so freely in this one. Tonally I felt it was a bit messy however this may have been the point of it so I can't really penalize it for that.
