shareI agree. It has a lot more depth. Thanks to Max. I liked the first 10 minutes of Up but didn't like the talking dogs part.
BTW, I'm not a troll. Human by Middle Eart standards.
Me too, i like the first 15 min of Up, quite touching moments when the old man's wife passed away but the film falls apart after that. Visually, it is more beautiful, but not necessary better, than Mary and Max. As for the content, the story, Mary and Max are grimmer, more fun, more intelligent than Up. It's a Disneyfilm for adults. For that, I chose Up for artistry but Max and Mary for better scenario, storyline, fun to watch, endearing, honest characters...Mary and Max is my favorite film, overall..
shareI thought Mary & Max was sensational.... I also didn't think as many people would feel the same way about Up as I did. I thought I'd missed something with all the hype Up was getting because I didn't rate it that highly at all....
There must have been a decent number of animated films released over the last year or so that were better than Up, In my view, the "academy" need to start thinking with their minds rather than their pockets....

I totally agree. The first part of UP was so poignant. I didn't like the dogs either.
shareMTE. The first 10-15 minutes of Up were really good and the love story was very beautifully told but the rest of the film didn't measure up to that beginning. I did love it, though, but not as much as Mary and Max.
shareUp is the worst Pixar movie to date. That means, it is still a very good movie, but Mary and Max are way better.

This one. It's more adult and stays with you longer.
UP is more suitable for a younger audience.
Mary and Max, for its achievement in its innovative story telling for animation movies (stop motion in particular).

shareHey ! What a coincidence!I happened to watch the two films last night,The first is Up and the seconds is MaM. I have to said the second one is far more better than the first one.Up is only good for the first 20 minutes
