This movie was pretty cool and caught me off guard. I really enjoyed it. Any other movies like this? A true hidden gem. Reminds me of The Brotherhood of the Wolf movie (iirc the title).

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is pretty good. At least I enjoyed it

I'd be game for a Solomon Kane trilogy, but i don't expect it to ever happen. Purefoy did a great job. He also kicked booty in Ironclad.

It's not really like it and for some reason every time I watch Solomon Kane it reminds me of Van Helsing.

I actually really enjoyed Apocalypto, and couldn't believe I never gave it a chance before watching it earlier this last summer.

Others like this I have enjoyed are:

The Eagle
King Arthur with Clive Owen
Outlander was a good one time watch
The Count of Monte Cristo (I seriously love this movie, one of my favs) I know it's not fantasy, but set in the same kind of era.
Outcast with Nicolas Cage, another good one time watch

Movies like this coming up that I am excited to see:

Ceasar

Some have already mentioned "Black Death," which is a great film and more based in reality than "Solomon Kane." If you don't mind older films, try 1968's Hammer-esque "The Conqueror Worm" aka "Witchfinder General" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063285/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1). It's based on true events and is therefore realistic in tone, like "Black Death."
