Ariel's sisters...interesting observation...

Ok, I just watched this film last night. I'm a huge Little Mermaid fan, so I bought the movie no questions asked. Yes, I even own "Return to the Sea".

Anyway...I enjoyed the fact that the sisters got more screen time...however there were some issues I noticed.

The first one is that there is a 6 year age difference between the youngest and the oldest. However, in the opening scenes when the girls are all little, they look roughly the same age. They could be septuplets from the look of them. They are all about the same size, and their faces look cherubic too. Ariel would have been 5 years old, and Attina (the new oldest) would be 11. Shouldn't she look 11? Melody was 10 in the sequel and her body looked it...however all of Ariel's sisters looked pretty close to Ariel's age in the beinning of "Ariel's Beginning". What was up with that?

The other thing is that it looks like anything that happened in the TV series is totally thrown out the window. The sisters got some screen time on the series, and especially Arista was fleshed out there. In this movie, the personalities changed around. So, basically it was inconsistent.

Oh, and although I see a lot of complaints that Ariel's mom Athena looked a lot like her, I don't mind that. The thing I kind of was annoyed by was Triton. In the series, his younger self had red hair, and here they gave him brown. So...more inconsistency.

Melody was 12. Other than that, they used to same face and body shape for the sisters aside from hair style and colors..
