This thing is a complete rip-off of Human Weapon! Both shows are about two guys who travel around the world, learning different martial arts each week, and showing the viewer some techniques and history. And Human Weapon has been out for a year! At least don't make it so obvious! Shame on you, Discovery Channel!
shareYou probably don't realise it but Human Weapon was the clone. The discovery channel aired this program first by a few months and then subsequently released human weapon. The guys in this show were more likeable and serious whereas one of the guys in the Human Weapon likened himself to be a comedian and that caused some friction in the show. Regardless, it's all old news now since neither show survived but Fight Quest predates Human Weapon.

On Human Weapon the hosts went to some place, got shown 3 techniques, had their fight and went away.
On Fight quest the hosts really spend some time with the trainers, train in their martial art, experience how it is for the elite practitioners for that art.
It also seems (though that might be just my view) that the hosts on fight quest have a lot more respect for the trainers of the arts they try.
