Did anyone else burst out in laughter when....

Adrienne is sitting there by herself and finds that last unsent letter from Paul in the box and then she bursts out crying?? Like i get it was a sad scene but Diane's acting in that scene made me laugh out loud, on a plane no less. Everyone else (that is female) is crying and me and my friend Spoolish are having a good laugh. What a hump of a movie.

I'm a girl and I busted out laughing too. No one else in the room I was with did though, so I felt stupid LOL!

"I'm you... only a little more bizarre..."

Like when she's screaming at Paul in the rain and stuff she does some pretty good acting, but Diane needs to stay away from bawling by herself scenes.

I was surprised by that scene...she is so much better than that but I, too, found it inappropriately hilarious.

I think the problem is that Diane has never had the experience and pain in real life and how it makes you react. Her reaction should have been much more gutteral. The emotional sound should have started deep in her gut and climbed into a emotional scream. Then followed by the stuttering crying. That experience is more like a emotional hit in the gut where you are frozen and the feeling and sound comes from deep inside. You can't breath properly.

Then, again, it could have been the director's fault. He might not have known what it should have looked like or sounded like either.

You've obviously never been in love...sad

reply

Yeah, I was watching it and I just started cracking up! I couldn't help it.

I know that you're leaving, you must have your reasons

reply

Oh, we've been in love before, just not bad acting movie love. lol.

Yeah, I didn't think it was funny. But to each their own.

From what you wrote, it sounds like you are angry because you couldn't control how the movie was affecting you. No one can force feed you anything. You are in control of how a movie affects you not the movie.

I laughed when the first night at the house Diane Lane was outside in front of the house and Gere came out on the balcony. It seemed so corny. This movie was so bad it was funny.

You must be very young. Just a hunch.

I laughed also when the horses came.
