Question About Moonlight's Vampires

The FAQ on here says that Mick sleeps in a freezer because in this TV show vampires are dead, yet Wikipedia says that they have a heartbeat. In the Forever Knight TV show, Nick and the other vampires hearts beat once every 10 minutes and they did not sleep in freezers. Now my question is which is right? The FAQ on here or Wikipedia's information. I don't see how the Moonlight vampires are classified as dead when their hearts beat. I mean yes, a heart beating very little would not make anyone truly alive, but I would not say they were dead.
I'm confused.

I'm not sure if that's something that was ever really discussed on the show (I'll have to re-watch and get back to you). What we do know is that they can walk in the sunlight, but it does weaken them over time. Holy water, crucifixes and garlic don't harm them. Stakes don't kill them, they only paralyze them. Also the possibility of curing vampirism is discussed in the show.

So I've been watching Moonlight and even though this topic is never specifically addressed, there are a couple of scenes that imply that vampires do, in fact, have a pulse. I hope this helps you.

Yes, it does help. I had liked the show Forever Knight because in that show, the vampires did have heartbeats. so I never thought of them as reanimated corpses, but as people who had died and were again living, but barely so. I really don't like shows and movies that portray them as spirit beings/demons or with no heartbeat. I know that is stupid and strange to some, but that is how I feel. Thank you very much.

The moonlight mythology explains the vampire heart beats with feeding That regular feeding keeps the vampire moving. Although they don't have the breath they do need to breath to speak.
They do not sleep, they 'rest' in their freezers.

Was it ever explicitly stated they needed to rest in freezers? I just figured it was a substitute for a coffin and would raise less questions if it was discovered..
