Hip hop is garbage

I don't know why Hollywood keeps pushing it. Nobody I knows likes it. They should have had the chipmunks singing country western.

Wow doesn't Shaun3701 sound like an ignorant close minded racist.

A stolen kiss is better than a legal one.

reply

Racist? Really? Because he doesn't like a certain type of music.

Grow a spine, prick.

reply

"Yeah no kidding... they need to quit f---ing with my childhood cartoons. Alvin is not f---ing black."

AZ. So you're basically an adult close minded bigot crying about your
pathetic childhood because you're under the assumption they made Alvin
black(?) For reasons I can't even fathom. I don't know whether to laugh
or pity you, so I'll just laugh.........

Perhaps in a sequel they'll make Urban Chipmunk

Or Chipmunks in Low Places

They probably went with hip-hop because it was new for them, more attractive to tiny wannabe gangstas, and way more popular than it should be.

There singing modern music, maybe you dont like it well that just ur oppinion and I respect that. But lets face it, it's the 21st century. And they have brought the franchise from the 1980/90s into today. This will sound stupid but I think pop music is more hip hop influnced than it used to be.

Meh, I like hip-hop.

reply

I don't see what the big deal is. I like everything that's to like music.

Peter was always emo. Stan Lee created him to have problems.

reply

But lets face it, it's the 21st century.

And the music sucks.

reply

Exactly, who cares if he acts all gangster. I know some of you will be all pissed off with me for saying this. But thats how the chipmunks should be, its not the 1980s ne more. Get over it

reply

"This music isn't us." Isn't that what the chipmonks said about hip-hop?

Man please get over your motha *beep* self. Good thing they werent singing all that *beep* where you just moan and groan or scream in the microphone. That punk or rock *beep* now thats what you call *beep* Its like, hey lets go shoot someone in the leg and throw them in the recording booth and have them moan these words outta pain, hey we have a hit song. Please, that was a plus for the movie, it wasnt even that great.

reply

"Witch Doctor" was the BEST song in the movie, and it was a hip hop song. And, in the plot, Dave wrote it.

I like what soundz good, whether it's hip hop, classical or country. You can enjoy this movie without liking the music that's in it.

Yeah, this movie was just terrible. The idea of the Chipmunks being updated for modern times is a bit silly, but of course this movie was made 100% to make money. It's just a marketing film, which completely negates any artistic value it may have had. But the movie sucks hard regardless of what genres they're using.

Jeez people, lighten up! its just a movie. as for the music, who cares what they were singing! I like all kinds of music from extra cheesey to really deep. So relax, its not even that serious.

reply

Um what do people listen to? I don't really know.

I listen almost exclusively to classical or heavy metal. Neither would sell, period.

I don't listen to hip-hop, but it was pretty catchy. I wouldn't be caught dead listening to it in my own car though. There's no emotion in hip-hop, it's just bouncy and meant to be partied to.

But really... what else would they use? Coldplay style music? What is that? Alternative rock? Boring. Country? The movie wouldn't have made half of what it did.

I'm no music expert. I think what they did was fine though.

I can't stand Hollywood rock n' roll. Sooo cheesy. R&B, which I don't even touch in real life, is much better in the movies.

i'm not a great fan of hip-hop, but i love the soundtrack to this film. seriously, i have a career in music, and hip-hop is not my thing at all, but i just love thier voices and the music itself. everyone needs to stop bitchin bout this movie. its a good laugh. and, o yeah, they're chipmunks!!! artistic license. this is good music. those who say it isn't, probably listen to crap music or have no idea wat music is about anyway!! plus, country music?? WHAT THE HELL!!! at least hip-hop is kinda based around the world. thats outside of america!
