I could barely get through this movie, it was really uncomfortable how he's basically this total loser who's obsessed with a women, lies in order to get into her place and then implants himself into her life and thinks he has any sort of right to be in it after a little while.
Don't get the indie love.
They were both very dysfunctional, *beep* up people... I agree he came off as a creepo, for sure.

Agreed. Had the same trouble in the early part of the film due to his level of creepiness. Truth is both characters are very unlikable. I don't think his motives were anything but selfish, at least initially, He either recognized the chick was damaged due to his own addiction problems or thought she would be an easy lay due to her fascination with erotic films. In either case, I think he recognized an easy opportunity to score a damaged attractive chick that would normally be out of his league. I never got the feeling that it was ever a motivation of, "I want to help this chick or I found my soulmate" again not at the beginning at least. If that was what the film was going for in the early stages then I think it failed miserably.

I actually thought it was gonna be a murder-suicide thing at the end...it ended rather sweetly tho...i was very pleased they fell for each other
