Tha last scene with Til Schweiger and the tattooed man

In the last scene, is it just me or did anyone else get the impression that Til Schweiger's character knew the tattooed man? It wraps it up neatly if the Til Schweiger character was the brains behind the son's killing, the tattooed man did the killing and then gave up Til Schweiger's character to the vigilantes. Anyone? Anyone?

All that last scene shows us (and it was a great way to end the film) is that Til used his abilities to track the guy down and act on his own sense of justice.

It actually confirms that he was telling the truth - that he would never harm a child, etc. Thus why he's so disgusted.

If he were "in" on it, he had about three dozen opportunities to get rid of Eldard.

And, obviously, "mechanic" means hired killer, or something in that vein.

Finally, Chris Plummer reveals all anyway in those "reveal" moments - quite overtly admitting this isn't the guy guilty of attacking his family, but that he's "bad" and "deserves" it anyway. It's telegraphed this is just someone they wanted to eliminate (for reasons not provided to us) - you can't miss it.

Stuck in purgatory.

I think the Man may have known the killer. Remember the scene in the control room when Archer and the Man are looking at the evidence. Seemed to me like the Man seemed pretty concerned after looking at everything. And remember when Archer asked him who he was and he said he didn't want to know. If he were just some random hitman, why would he think Archer would care?

I think maybe the man is the ringleader of a crime ring and organized the burglary of Archer's home, but probably instructed the burglar not to kill anyone. In that case, he would easily have known who the killer was. However, I agree with another poster that at the end, the killer does not seem to recognize the man. However, it could be that if it was a large crime syndicate, perhaps they never met. Who knows...

Part of me thinks "The Man" knew the tatted killer however on the board the picture of the man with someone else doesn't appear to be the killer in the boot of the car

On the boards in the office are one column for Tom Archer one for Sarah Archer (wife) along with some other names Tyler/Marston etc

"Thë mans" board shows a picture with him with his son and match with the words Murder 1 3 Counts underneath it implying as we all are saying here he is a hitman

He just felt for Mr Archer and did the task he couldn't accomplish

**SPOILER ALERT**

He probably knew of him. My guess is they both were some kind of Black Opts agents of some kind.

BTW, why spoil the ending in your topic title, there are movie viewers who give a quick once over on the message board before deciding whether they want to watch the movie or not.
