First out this is a made up story.

Acting was pathetic. Where did they get these people?

Story and writing even worse.

Depalma. I expected more. Guess your time has come and went. Guess there is a reason you haven't made a good movie in over a decade.

Depalma. It is one thing to be against the war, one of which I agree we have no business there, but to make it look like every troop we have over there are nothing but rapists, murderers and drunks is an insult to every military person we have protecting the country you live in. You know the one that lets you "freely" do what you want to do. Don't like it? Leave it.

What about Saddam and his regime?. Should have made a movie about him. You would have seen real savages then. You are probably one that believes the military staged 911.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste 2 hours of your life on this crappy film that is around a fictional rape.

Is it not disturbing, nor thought provoking. It is just bad movie making, acting, writing, etc

You guys were watching a completely different movie then. I thought it was good.

Stuff like this reminds me of "Movie Poop Shoot.com" from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

I cant believe the stupidity of americans.

They cursed the soldiers that protecting their own country. Are all americans retarded or what???

If this keep going on, america will end up just like rome. I am not an american, but i support america in war against terror.

I dont care bush wants oil or what, but i surely want all those damned terrorist to be dead. Call me a hater, i admit i do hate em terrorists!!

What a steaming pile this movie was. Everything about it was ridiculous. The only thing that scares me more than the horrible writing, is that some people might actually think this movie is realistic.

And to make an interesting point, I am a liberal.

it's not an interesting point that you are a liberal. It is a disgrace. Liberals search for the truth and know this story is true. Only the ignorant think it is not.

Except, the real incident is far worse than the movie.

Also, are you daft? He's not making every soldier look like rapists. He's making the two soldiers involved in this rape like rapists. Incase you missed it, there was one soldier that knew about the rape that was opposed to it. It also happend in the real Iraqi War.

So what's your point?

A lot of us who hate the movie GET that it's (loosely) based on a real incident. Certainly a great movie could have been made from that story. But this is a terrible movie. The fact that it's based (LOOSELY) on something real doesn't automatically make it substantial, or worthy, or good. DePalma completely screwed it up. He took something real and rendered it implausible, caricatured, amateurish and exploitative. He's made bad movies before (Raising Cain, Mission to Mars, Femme Fatale, Bonfire of the Vanities), but this was really an embarrassment.

Thats right, It is LOOSELY based on real events! If De Palma wanted to be more faithful to real events he would have had FIVE soldiers gang rape the girl instead of TWO!

Thought the movie was average at best but it was flmed in a deliberate way. Was it necessary to tell the story? Maybe, maybe not. But I wasn't aware of this crime until I saw this movie, so maybe it is necessary.

The only thing I saw that could not be true was that fat guy! (Similar to private Pile in FMJ). You yanks don't seriously have soldiers like that? How can they be effective in that shape. He didn't look like he had the mental attitude to make a good soldier let alone the physical side!!!
