The 'youngest brother' theory?

I certainly agree with the theory that homosexuality has to do with genetics, and I also agree with Kinsey's theory that few people are 100% heterosexual or 100% homosexual; I myself am gay and had a wonderful relationship with a woman for three years. I have to admit that, if compelled too, I would have sex with a woman if she was the right woman, while many gay men would be repulsed by the thought.

OK, but I'm going off the point. This whole theory about a male fetus being attached by antibodies seems a bit far-fetched, because (1) it doesn't account for homosexual females and (2) I simple don't know any gay men that are the youngest boy in their family, and I know a LOT of gay men.

Any opinions on this one?

I agree...it's absurd.

The film conceded that most of the research done on sexual orientation thus far has focused on male sexuality. AsS far as the birth order theory, the film made it clear it was a statistical trend; it does not happen in every case. It seems doubtful that something as complex as human sexual orientation has a single cause. It is most likely the result of many factors.

Thank you!

That should really be the last comment on this thread as it is really the final conclusion on the matter. Sexual orientation--something that probably has a genetic contribution, and is played out variably depending on environment and culture, and however many other things--just seems too complex to be summarily explained so easily as is done in the film. It's in interesting question for certain, but the focus on why is less important to me than the focus on how-- how do we then decide to act based on the fact that there are, and will always be, gay people on this planet? What purpose does homophobia serve in society?

Gosh, I myself can attest I am 110% heterosexual. I am hyper-heterosexual you might say. I have never looked at another man in a sexual way. So I do not buy Kinsey's assertion of no one can be 100%.

The antibodies theory seemed legit until they completely glossed over the explanation of lesbians.
