Contradictions with Better Call Saul

Now that Better Call Saul is finished, is there anything presented in the spin-off series that contradicts events and characters in Breaking Bad? The writers and producers did an amazing job of having BCS flow together with Breaking Bad, but was there anything major that BCS presents that doesn’t line up with Breaking Bad? I haven’t noticed anything other than Saul’s behavior in Breaking Bad sometimes doesn’t seem to match some of the more traumatic experiences he had in Better Call Saul.

Hmmm, well in BCS in “Breaking Bad” Walt already knew they had to pay 80k to Saul for the Jimmy In-n-Out scheme……and he said “It’s a starting number…”

Whereas in “Better Call Saul” in BrBa, Walt and Jesse were both really taken aback when Saul said how much it all was gonna cost……to which Saul replies “Having a conscious gets expensive huh?” So clearly neither of them knew it was gonna cost 80k.

Also Bob Odenkirk in “Saul Gone” was a major discrepancy to me. In BCS he played Saul with Walt as if Walt was stuck with Jimmy Mcgill instead of Goodman. Sad eyes, submissive demeanor…..desperately trying to have that time machine convo with Walt. Sadly accepting Walt’s “So you were always a loser like this” burn.

But if you actually rewatch “Granite State” in BrBa, you’ll find that Walt is stuck with SAUL GOODMAN. The guy who lays out the reality of the situation hard on Walt. With spunk, attitude and talkback. Totally different.

Also I find that when watching BCS, I didn’t believe Mike’s character to be very accurate to BrBa. In BrBa Mike’s attitude towards Gus was complete trust, “I know better than to ask” in “Shotgun”. But in BCS Mike is a naggy brat to Gus all the way through, even when Gus managed to kill Lalo by himself, Mike is still whining “Would you tell me next time you wanna play detective?”

There’s a scene in BrBa where Walt backs Saul into the corner of his office and scares the shit out him, but you're spot on about Mike’s attitude. That could be just something that changed over time, maybe he just learns to trust Gus’s opinion more and his own less. Maybe at some point Gus beats the shit out of Mike or threatens his granddaughter at some point for second guessing him. His loyalty to Gus certainly strengthens over time cause he would’ve had no issue killing Jesse if he asked before they formed their bond, whereas Nacho he was willing to give up to the Salamancas
