What do you think Walt's response would've been?

When Hank shows Walt the music video of Gale, he also showed him the lab notes. Walt is flipping the pages and Hank goes, "Is he talking about a phenylacetone cook??" Walt agrees and says yes. That is the end of the convo.

But, is that something that Walt "the simple loser high school teacher" should know about a meth cook? Isn't that a clue to Hank?

Imagine if Hank would've asked him, "How easy would it be for you to cook meth if you really wanted to, Walt?" What do you think Walt's response would've been?

Walt has knowledge of Chemistry far beyond the PhD level (yet surprisingly doesn't know that Hydrofluoric Acid is weak), it's well within reason that he would know what the contents of Gale's notebook meant.
