Doubling down on 'chick show' theme

Could there be a more blatant grab at female audiences than wedding and pregnancy storylines? I didn't watch last night and might be done with this show completely but having a wedding episode for two already married characters is just pathetic. Shows how out of ideas the writers are and how willing they are to run with the tropes of other chick shows like Friends, which is apparently their template.

Chuck Lorre is one of the bigvest sellouts known to mankind.

It's not a "grab at female audiences", it's just shoddy writing period.

I agree with the OP, this show has definitely gravitated more toward the "chick show" or "romantic comedy" genre as time has gone on. Certainly it is closer to that now than it was in its early seasons. I'm not saying that's bad necessarily, most shows have to evolve or get stagnant.

I'm female, and weddings, pregnancies, and romances are not at all necessary for me to enjoy a show. But adding them doesn't necessarily take away from my enjoyment, either. It's all in the execution, and for my money, this show has done ok with them so far.

I mean, people from all walks of life and all ends of the earth do actually fall in love, get married, and have children *shudder*.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Anyway...

You are falsely accusing Chucky-and-Company. The grab is blatant alright; but it's for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

And...

The best way to get more and more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is to include something-for-everyone (or, a least, as MANY as you can).

If chipmunks were consumers with credit cards; "Alvin, Simon and Theodore" would, no doubt, be guest starring on the show.

How can you not admire that kind of crack jack, head-for-business thinking!?
