Toothbrushes: Where do you keep yours?

So where does everyone keep their toothbrushes? How about the other members of the household? As I've mentioned before, I am a germaphobe. Therefore, I keep my toothbrush in a small juice glass on the counter in the bathroom covered with a piece of facial tissue - a fresh piece after every use, naturally.

My husband keeps his in the shower, where he brushes his teeth. My sister keeps hers in a toothbrush holder, uncovered, on the bathroom counter.

In a holder, along with my husband's. I've been known to actually use his. And he's free to use mine if he wants. I can't imagine worrying about "germs" between the two of us. That's why I kiss him sometimes...

reply

Same as your sister; I keep mine in a holder next to the sink in the bathroom, uncovered.

There are particles that float in the air after people do their business but, as long as you flush during and after every use, it shouldn't be a problem. At least that's what I was told.

BTW, why is the plural called toothbrushes? More than one tooth is called teeth, so why not pronounce it as "teethbrush"? Just something that I've always thought about, LOL!

reply

I was talking about that with someone just last night. The brush isn't brushing all of your teeth at once, so, toothbrush.

reply

Because teeth is about more than one tooth. Teethbrush is nothing to do with more than one brush.

so why not pronounce it as "teethbrush"?

Because Teeth brush sounds ridiculous, maybe ? 😊.

Kinda like hairsbrush would?

I kept mine in the toothbrush holder until I watched an episode of "Myth Busters" years ago that proclaimed every toilet flush disperses...stuff. Now, I keep it in a drawer, which is probably worse. :)
