Sheldon said he didn't want to snuggle...

...and yet when he falls asleep we have Amy spooning him. That has always been my number one issue with Shamy, the fact that Amy doesn't fully respect Sheldon's problems with intimacy and just keeps pushing him more and more. He has boundaries and I find it quite disturbing that she just ignores them. Anyone else feel this way?

No sometimes some people have to be pushed just a little to put them at ease with something new. In this specific case maybe Sheldon changed his mind or they were just snuggling in their sleep.

It is a sig.other's responsibility and duty to push past boundaries. If you're going to continue living with your "boundaries," you have zero business hooking up with someone much less getting married, ever. When Sheldon got together with Amy, especially the second time, he was agreeing to leave his "boundaries."

reply

Not me. TBBT is a TV show and these characters are not real people. It's all about entertainment, random real life things are crafted to support a comical show. Nothing happens exactly as the series indicates, only parts of these events do occur, and they occur separately.

Amy is creepy, she has always tried to get Sheldon to do things he doesn't want to. There's definitely a double standard at work, it would be considered shocking if it was the other way round. everyone always says Howard is creepy, but Amy is far more creepy than he is. i wish Sheldon would dump her.

Each time Amy has stepped away from the relationship, Sheldon has pulled her back - he loves her. Relationships are all about compromise, and I think the last episode did a good job in showing how Sheldon and Amy are working that out.

he should push her under a train.

Because she loves him, and wants to have something approaching normal life with him?Amy is not willing to give up physical intimacy for the rest of her life. Sheldon has to change or she will leave. His choice.

Agreed. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and that's fine. But for me I don't understand why people act like Sheldon is somehow being forced to stay in this relationship with Amy. How is he being forced?? When Amy was on a date with Dave at her apartment, it was Sheldon who ran down there and told her he wanted to be her boyfriend again. Nobody made him do that. When Vanessa came to 4A and he had a chance to date someone new he literally slammed the door in her face. And the first morning after the living experiment Amy was the one who wanted to end it because she didn't think she could take living with him. But Sheldon argued they shouldn't because they hadn't collected enough data yet. Also I didn't exactly see him kicking and screaming when she suggested they go back to 4B and make out. That's why I get confused. If Sheldon is so desperate to be rid of this woman who supposedly tricks him into doing everything, then why doesn't he take any of the opportunities given him??

Too bad there is no real-world application for that as a don't-leave argument.

Not really, she's probably starving for it so because she's denied the normal closeness other couples have, she's gone years without it so I can kind of understand her craving it. Besides Sheldon is so stupid with all of his crap I don't really respect it myself. Maybe to a point but not as far as he takes everything.

He kept backing into her, snuggling against her in his sleep, what was she supposed to do?
