A very bad film
This film was appalling. I have nothing more to say than it was fun to laugh at the lack of quality this film.

I'm an active caver. From my point of view this movie totally sucked.
shareI just love how people are trying to justify this by saying it looked pretty and was great in 3D. Overlooking the facts that; the acting was wooden, the characters were paper thin, the script was stale and cliched, the entire film was derivative and predictable, the editing was incredibly flawed and not to mention sexist (weak women vs. brawling men). Oh, and apparently the post-pro team have never heard of colour grading or effect uses of green screen technology?
But oh yes, Sanctum had better than average 3D...

3D is still a gimmick. I once sat in one of those movie 3D rides, and it had better dialogue.
Sure, James Cameron can make a film with some nice shots, but that doesn't mean that it's better than those IMAX nature films at museums. Sure, it's at least 3 stars for those shots alone but great cinema normally has greater value than nature videos with no commentary. If you just want that, Netflix has that too.
It's not that bad, just mediocre.

This movie really wasnt all that good, not by any stretch of the imagination was it worth its production cost. The movie was clearly not "short" but it still feelt rushed in some parts, didnt feel like big production at all, couldve been a "Scifi Channel special" to be honest - if it wasnt for the 3D and some notable names.
shareNo way this movie was really good. Maybe it's not your cup o tea but it is a good movie and I have great taste in movies so check it out. I've watched it 2 times since it came out and I rarely watch movies more than once.

Me too. And I get bored easily. It's like I saw a totally different movie than the one that's getting trashed. (And I saw it in 2D). Wow. Is my movie review meter really THAT off?!!!
