dexter isn't bloody hitchcock

SandCrab, hello.

Why does this concern you so much? Colin Dexter has had the briefest cameo in every episode of Morse, Lewis, and Endeavor. The producers, directors, cast, crew, and many members of the audience enjoy seeing him.

Peter Jackson always plays a couple+ minute part in each of his films and often gives his children a part.

George Lucas appeared in his, although I don't remember how many.

Although so people may believe that Hitchcock was a far greater director than these other men, why does it matter so much?

Truly, curious about such intensity of feeling about a generally unimportant piece of theater in TV and films when - in a way - it is a hat tip to the Master of Mystery.

Checkered,

SandCrab is clearly a classic troll who need to figure out that nobody cares about his/her nasty remarks and Get A Life. I respect your answers, which are much more well-reasoned and kindly expressed than the OP deserves.

DUH! Thank you, Virginiana.

I had completely forgotten about trolls, excepting those three whom Bilbo and the Dwarves met on their way to the Lonely Mountain. 

I have been off of IMDb for a bit over a year and have been revisiting all of Colin Dexter's TV shows hailing Oxford and the Thames Valley Police. This began after Endeavor's Third Series and before seeing Inspector Lewis' last one.

It is so comforting to know that he is on duty watching over the weird activities of so many academics in that golden town and its gorgeous spires. The wonderful Lewis has been part of so many viewers' lives the past 29 years! 

Well, I was thinking that I fell in love with Star Trek during the local TV station playing reruns in 1995, nearly ten years after it premiered. And taking people at face-value until proven otherwise, I wanted to share many points that have been a high for me recently to encourage SandCrab.

Nothing lost in doing so because writing always clarifies one's thinking, correct? Or, in this situation, not so much. 

Have you been a fan for a long while? Who is your favorite detective or does it matter? Perhaps it would help to revisit Barnaby in Midsummer; the original, not the stalwart second in place.

I appreciate the head's up. 

Actually I don't think Dexter was in the foreign travel episodes of Morse, the trip to Italy and the one to Australia, was he?

Oh, I don't know, it's quite fun, a kind of "Where's Wally". Mrs. Lilac and I always give up a little cheer "Yaaaay" when we Spot Colin.

We saw Colin in "Last Bus to Woodstock" this week and commented on how young he looked way back then compared to the last series of Lewis and then you think 28 years.....fair enough.
Colin Dexter deserves every bit of credit for writing and creating a universe that has now given us 30 years and three separate, top-notch series of entertainment. Hopefully with a 4th to come "Inspector Hathaway" has a nice ring to it.

The Gene Roddenberry of Crime, if you will.
