Did "She" deserve death in your opinion?

Was his (murder?) killing of her in a film either self-defense, "justifiable" homicide in vengeance (even if still cruel and perhaps over the top) or outright undeserved brutal murder, making her an innocent victim and him a de-facto ("De-Foe"- haha) guilty murderer and evil man in this one? Cheers.
