holy crap this movie sucked...

acting wasn't bad... but seriously, no direction, no dialogue that is useful... this is an awful, boring movie with the cast mostly standing around staring doing nothing interesting... this director sucks and so does the movie... what a waste of time. i'm reminded of high school A/V class with this caliber of a movie... can't believe someone actually produced this crap.

Oh dear, I'm glad I didn't pay to see this movie. Watched it all the way through to see if it got any better but it didn't. If you watch this on fast forward you won't miss anything. Odin or not, they could have made it a whole lot more interesting while we watched. They could have condensed it into 30 minutes - take away the music and it's nothing. 1/10

The director is planning a sequel!

Its that man again!!

I watched this for the second time today. I liked it a little more than the first, but overall I still find it just not that agreeable overall. Kudos to the director and whoever else for trying something that's way off the beaten path...I just think they didn't quite get there. Some of it I really liked...but just not enough to thoroughly enjoy it.

For those who did, I think I can understand why...and I respect that. I would give it 5 or 6 of 10. Loved Drive, so definitely will keep following this guy's work.

We all got it comin', kid.

Some movies aren't about holding your hand and then beating you over the head until you understand the movie. Amovie like Valhalla Rising is about visual storytelling, that provokes you to think, rather than just staring at a movie.

The comments made here are far more entertaining than this movie, which I've watched several times at least twice start to finish and no one I saw it with the first time thought it was worth trying a second time. Some good scenes, but only in the sense of it being a desktop background that changes to another background after a set amount of time.

The comments hating this movie some of which I do agree with regarding it not being a good entertaining film, are hilarious, but no where near as entertaining as the comments from the trolls who elevate it atop a pretend pedestal just to annoy other commenters. Well done

I'm not trolling at all, this film is really well made, and the subtle story is perfectly dream like or acid trip inspired. It's not really a film most people would like for the same reasons I said before, but those people are probably waiting for thor to pop out with mijnor to save the day along with captain america. But for someone who can appreciate a film for its cinemataography, scenery, costume design, and more obtuse storytelling, it's really excellent.

It's a film about lost vikings looking to fight in the crusades and end up lost and landing in the Americas, looking to spread the word of god, on land already inhabited. Mix that with One Eye, a silent slave warrior, who never speaks and is driven by his visions of the future, who finally sacrifices himself to save the boy, his only voice, is quite different than most films, and I found it more entertaining than watching a predictable plot with people with really *beep* acting roles, yelling at green screens and tennis balls.

I agree with Wildboar-1.

Definitely one of the best movies ever made. If you do not agree with us, then you are an unsophisticated child and should go back to Disney movies.

Good or bad movie? I don't know. I don't care. Spent the entire time thinking how I would have been able to sneak into one eye's cage.
