Comments - Pattern

We at CDI only had one comment on the comments - while improvement is and always will be the overall goal as a group, it is hard to miss that a string of the slamming comments most are centered on editing. Furthermore they all come from someone who signed up and only reviewed this film alone. Also they almost always gave 2 stars. A pattern? For sure. Being that most the comments are focused on editing I would wager that most of the comments came from one person and most likely an editor in need of work. That said, comments are digested and improvement will always be the goal. An assistant editor to bring a new eye may come into play.

As always thank you for the attention and comments.

Take it from me, Dean, those criticisms weren't from one person involved in editing films, but from many.

I'm not in the film business, but I've watched over 2000 movies over the years and I assure you that the first act of your film is just confusing as far as storytelling goes. You didn't distinguish the two time-lines well enough. Thankfully, the character played by Rance Howard finally clears everything up at the 44-minute mark (I suspected that's what was happening, but wasn't certain until then). The movie gets a little compelling at that point, but it eventually fizzles out in its over-length and dubious over-the-top non-acting of the peripherals. Furthermore, the old-aged Harmon Teaster wasn't a believable threat to the town's outlaw gang in the last act. For anyone in town to think so is kind of laughable.

If you do any more films I encourage you to hire a professional scriptwriter (and maybe an editor as well).

But let me end on a positive note: The Maggie Valley locations/sets were just fine, even excellent.
