Who loved Blake Ritson as Edmund?

I think i've just fallen in love with a fictional character... again. Blake Ritson played Edmund really well but the whole adaption was neither amazing nor a disaster. I just have to say this: Blake Ritson was the main reason why i endured the whole 2 hours of it. I'm talking about his acting...not his looks...of course.. God i'm so shallow.

Yes, I loved him as Edmund! He was gorgeous and he portrayed the character very well, IMO. Yeah, I definitely see how he resembles Adrien Brody! I was thinking that the whole time I was watching the movie. They're both gorgeous men.

reply

I echo the Adrien Brody sentiments. I liked his performance. A lot.

Hmm, I wondered why I liked his look so much. Maybe it is the Adrien Brody ressemblance, now that you guys mention it. The way he portrayed the character was amazing as well. I think Mr. Darcy has some competition now with Blake's Edmund...gosh I'm a dork.

While watching MP, Blake Ritson as Edmund sort of gradually consumed me. By the end of the movie I was in love with him as Edmund. I never thought anyone could come between me and Mr. Darcy. *swoon*

He's currently #4 on the PBS site for Most Popular Austen men. You can vote!

Would like to see more of Blake Ritson on film. He's just lovely.

Oh, I loved him as Edmund. He's hot, and also a good actor. Could it get any better? :)

Yup, it's true. I am a faithful McAvoyer

Oh my!!!! I couldn't take my eyes off off him! Blake is handsome!!!! I love his big eyes :D . He's very cool, makes me melted. LOL. I want more films of him. Unfortunately, my library don't have many movies with him in.

He's the reason why I finished the movie. I love this movie much better then the 1983 version. The old one was ' stiff ', not showing too much connection.
I love Blake!!!!

So far, he's the film's only redeeming feature. I'm about 12 minutes into it and just have to pause, because it is such a wretched version of the book I can hardly stand it. It might end up being as appalling as the 1999 version. Why do people always want to SEX UP this story??

Blake Ritson is, as I said, the only person so far playing his character as he's meant to be played.

When I said upthread that I liked the adaptation, I think I was saying that in relation to MP99 and to the other recent adaptations (I hadn't yet seen S&S08). IMO it's hard to be worse than MP99, and it's hard to be worse than P07. And I didn't like NA07 much either (talk about being sexed up!).

This one didn't offend me as much as these others did. But I still prefer MP83.

reply

Me too. Colin Firth's P&P, Ang Lee's S&S, Amanda Root's Persuasion, MP83, ... and I did like Gwyneth's Emma.

reply

We disagree on P&P and S&S, but we can't have everything. My preferences lean towards P&P80 and S&S08/S&S71.

I thought that Blake Ritson was perfect as Edmund. I was really pleased by his performance...

I'm Canadian and damn proud of it!;)

I'm a little late to this party. But, this yankee sure did! Those eyes(coupled with the eyebrows), the lips, the sculpted face...Edmund you are a dream. And it doesn't hurt that he is a great actor(IMO). He is wonderful in anything he is in and now I'm in search of anything with him. I first noticed him as Riario in DaVinci's Demons. He intrigued me and loved his deliciously evil/yet redeemable character. Love when he has a goatee...brings out the eyes even more. Also just watched World without end. First watched the entire thing, now I just watch the King Edward III scenes, he's so expressive even when he's not speaking. God Save BR! Thank the lord for Netflix/Hulu and Amazon prime because those have allowed this american to view more quality television and miniseries from BBC. BTW, check BR out in League of Gentlemen as Justin(?) Herr Lipp's "crush".
