better shows than most networks ever had. CW? please!!!!! America's Next Top Bitch. no competition there. nbc, fox, upn...Friends, Seinfeld, Everybody Hates Chris...screw networks. bunch of overrated, unimaginative trash.

networks = lame shows like party of five

cable = genious shows like MST3K

Chappelle's show is funnier than 80 percent of the shows i've ever seen.

Sarah Silverman's show is hilarious and innovative.

it's sad to see people every day with horrible taste. but it goes hand in hand...stupid people like stupid things. hence, network lovers.

and this show is mildly funny at best. not CC's proudest moment.

Comedy Central definitely has had a lot of great shows over its history.

"You happy now that you got my eyes on lockdown!"

This show is great. A cast predominantly filled with unknown/ character actors/ imporv comics. That's why I think people aren't giving it a chance. These shows always turn out too be really funny, but since the majority of people don't recognize anyone on the show or have just seen the advertisements and not the actual show, they THINK the show is crap. My friends and I gave this show a shot and after seeing the first two episodes we all agree that it has the potential to be a side-splitting hit.
I love comedy and I'm a big fan of all the current hits like I'm sure a lot of you reading this are (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, The British & US Office, etc.). I wish people had to fill out some sort of criteria here before they could post things like 'this show sucks' and 'is going to be cancelled'. Are you a fan of comedy? Do you like to laugh? This show was great. The counsler guy was on an episode of Significant Others, another funny ass show people weren't watching, So I guess it isn't too insane that they would cancel this show. Just give it a chance. People hated the US Office Season 1, and supposedly Arrested Development never found a big audience on TV, but both those shows rock(ed)!

i love when the black guy is recording the video before he attempts to blow the house up. He has a bunch of little toy swords around some crappy muslim flag. "I got a clock, cuz it's time to blow yo ass up!"

I think only about 3 or 4 episodes have aired, but it is starting to get good. The first couple weren't that great, but it always takes a few episodes and in some cases a season before a show finds its voice. Well, "Halfway Home" is finding it and it looks like it could end up being a good show. I like it much more than "The Sarah Silverman Program", but she IS an alternative media darling so here show may end up having more critical support than "Halfway Home" which is more diserving of praise. As a further side-note concerning "...Sara Silverman..." I do like the supporting cast and ocassionaly the subplots are funny. I think that this show "Halfway Home", has a better chance at haning around than "The Naked Trucker and T-Bones", don't you all?

reply

all 10 episodes will air. but if the numbers don't go up, there WON'T be a second season. South Park just isn't a strong lead-in show anymore. They're just about done as well.

reply

I agree with your list, but "The Kids In The Hall" was made for HBO and then moved to CBS. Comedy Central just aired the reruns.

After watching the episodes, I'm happy to say I was surprised at how funny this show is. MUCH better than any other new show Comedy Central has tried out recently. The Sarah Silverman Show is decent...I can't even count how many other failed shows Comedy Central has tried out the past couple of years. I would say the low point was "Freak Show." David Cross tends to be hilarious (see Arrested Development, Run Ronnie Run, etc.), but Freak Show was just awful. I TRIED to watch an entire episode and I couldn't make it.

Anyway, back to Halfway Home...I think this show has potential. The episodes I have seen have all been hilarious and I think it should stay on the air for maybe 2 or 3 seasons (don't know if it will though).

This show will definantly be canned before May hits
I dont think the season will end anymore

my opinion sure has changed negatively on this show

This is a brilliantly nuanced comedy. I hope it stays around for a while.

I like Arrested Development, both versions of The Office, My Name is Earl, Reno 911, 30 Rock, Scrubs, The Daily Show, Strangers with Candy, The Colbert Report and sometimes South Park, sometimes Drawn Together.

I like Halfway House, I like Sarah Silverman (some'times) and It's Always Funny Philadelphia (in small doses.)

I can't stand Mind of Mencia, Blue Collar TV or the Chapelle's Show.

I agree with whoever said the comedy is nuanced--there is no laugh track. It's dry, it's not family-oriented and mass-marketed for parents and their kids and the grandma and the dog. At the same time, it's not in-your-face controversy, or "edgy" for the sake of being edgy, and disguising its lack of humor with gore, piss and crap.

I thought it wouldn't make it past season one but it actually turned out to be funny.

I felt the same thing when this thing was being advertised. However, seeing about 5 episodes now, I think this is a great show. I think its got alot from reno 911, but its still genuinely entertaining, if not laugh out loud, still makes me smirk.

What the hell do you people care if it gets cancelled or not, if it sucks that bad dont watch artard. But its bad enough that it pissed you off enough to get you off youre fatass cheeto eating couch pussy, to write about it and endorse it negatively or positively then youre doing it a favor. Like every show I hate I just ignore it until it gets cancelled or not. Sometimes it doesnt get cancelled though but I dont pop onto message boards *beep* it like a flaming retard. And to the dumbass who said if the show was any good it would be on network tv is probably a backwards ass redneck without cable or a *beep* waterhead idiot. The day I see The Sopranos or The Boondocks on NBC I will fly out to Wyoming and suck youre 3 inch 11 year old dick. Until then dont be suck a *beep* *beep* to people trying to appreciate something they like. Flame on *beep*

I think it's obvious that the "Comedy Central Roasts" are the best thing they've done recently. It's not an original idea, but still.. they've hit a goldmine. They can literally roast anyone.. with people that dont even know them. And people will watch. Flava Flav's roast was the highest rated in history.

As far as Halfway Home goes.. it was a better show than Drawn Together.. which is awful, and was renewed more than once.

i think if Halfway Home had more time to work out the kinks, maybe a 2nd season, it would have been a fine show. And the casting was a little skewed, especially the character of "Kenny." Pretty lousy.

I skipped the last 5 pages of the this post because it looked worthless, so i may have missed something. doubt it.
