This show is so getting cancelled.

It's not out yet, but I welcome it to prove me wrong.

reply

If it sucks as bad as Sarah Silverman then definitely.

reply

Sarah Silverman Program was hilarious, and this show isn't all that bad either.

reply

From the promos alone, this looks awful. BTW, Sarah Silverman's show has some comedy to it. It's not that bad.

reply

"some comedy"...Hitler told jokes from time to time, too...didn't make him a good guy.

Chappelle's show was a fluke for Comedy Central...they cannot make good programs. Cept south park i guess.

Thread is *beep* over.

reply

Yeah they don't make good programs at all, except for: Reno 911, South Park (which you mentioned), Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents, Dr. Katz, Win Ben Steins Money, The Daily Show, The Upright Citizens Brigade, The Colbert Report, Insomniac with Dave Atell, Politically Incorrect, Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and of course Chappelle's show.

FYI, Comedy Central didn't make MST3K, they started distributing it after it ran for a full season on a local T.V. channel in Minnesota

I agree with those that say Halfway Home won't make it a full season. It is as bad as Sarah Silverman's show: no better/no worse (critically acclaimed? LOL)

reply

Yeah I'm terribly sorry for that one mistake I made by bundling a show they distributed on their channel with ones that they created. It's a good thing that they did air it though otherwise only people in Minnesota would know of it. Also maybe you need a clarification session yourself as "make" is not the same as "create". No they did not create the show, yes they did make or produce seven seasons for the national cable network. So please take the elitist fact checking elsewhere please.

And no I don't hold out a great deal of hope for Halfway Home, I just resent the distinction that all shows on Comedy Central (regardless of where they originate) all suck.

reply

this show is hilarious, if they pass on this like they did stella. they will be dumb

I hate the idea of Halfway Home! I hate The Sarah Silverman show! I hate
Mind of Mencia! I like Mr Show!
Movie Theatre Refreshment/Snack Prices $4.50 small soda!

reply

Mr Show sucks! i hate those two guys, they just arent funny.

reply

They need to stop putting out trash like this and that stupid trucker show (is that canceled yet?) and get Drawn Together back on the air, dammit!

reply

The whole problem with any show on Comedy Central or any cable network is that if the show were any good to begin with, it would be on a network. Hell, it should be a clue to most people that if a show isn't even good enough to be on the "CW" it probably isn't going to be very good.

Then, once in a while a show like Reno 911 or Chappelle catches on and becomes popular.

As for Drawn Together, I can't understand why anyone would like that show any better than any of the other crappy shows CCentral puts out. "OHHHHH, I know, lets poke fun at reality TV, that's innovative. And while we're at it, let's make fun of racial stereotypes, that's never been done before, you know and then let dorks on the Internet say that if people don't think it's funny its because the humor is over their heads." funky fresh!

reply

Chappelle's show was a fluke because he backed out of the contract on his own will. Ratings and popularity were incredibly high.

This show works the same as Reno 911. There's a plot and the actors are told what to do, then the rest is all improvised. I saw the first episode and it definetly has potential.

The way I see it, there are two possible reasons why a show would be on cable as opposed to network TV: it's either not good enough or it's one of those shows that wouldn't work on network. Now, granted, a lot of the shows Comedy Central puts out aren't exactly great (although some are, like TDS and the Colbert Report), some of the best programming on TV is on cable (moreso premium cable than regular cable, but stations like FX are pretty good, too).

As for Halfway Home, I don't think I've seen enough of it to accurately judge, but so far, it's alright. Not great, but not bad either.

reply

actually they make fun of cartoons not racial sterotypes if you were referring to "Drawn together"

reply

agreed with you 100 percent and please get halfway home cancelled it's making my head hurts

My Prediction:

When "Futurama" comes to Comedy Central in 2008, theyll have viewers up the wazoo, the world will see that "Futurama" was actually a great show, and theyll cancel crap like this and bring "Futurama" back from the grave (and Comedy Central's ratings).

THE END

reply

I've seen the first episode and I must admit, I liked it. Not the best thing ever but there were alot of funny moments and I like the cast. Hopefully it stays around for a while.

reply

I liked the first episode too, it's a lot better than the promos made it look. Not the greatest show, but a lot better than I expected it to be.

reply

I like Oscar Nunez, he's great as... Oscar... in The Office.

The show isn't bad. Sort of a screwball comedy like Arrested Development on crack (with less brain cell activity).

"I just blue myself."

reply

Oh come-on, how isn't this funny :

"Take that white American!"

reply

because most of the people on this site don't like the slapstick kind of humor they want the more dry brand like what Arrested Devolopment was. This show is badass and the CW has atleast one incredibly underappreciated show with Supernatural, serisouly give it a chance before you bash it just because its on the worst network

reply

its on comedy central you idiot

reply

This show is neat. I'd like another episode or six.

reply

yes

reply

to the guy that thought he was cool but wasn't intelligent enough to follow what i was saying i am well aware halfway home is on CC but i was saying that not EVERY show on the CW is trash and to give supernatural a chance because it is truely the most underrated show on televison right now anybody looking for a good thriller/mystery/horror show and i use horror very lightly with a great cast and one of the better produced products around right now i highly suggest giving supernatural a try

reply

yeah thats not funny Cannabis
in fact I can tell that you probably watched this when you were stoned judging by your name as nobody would actually laugh at an incoherent random bit of dialogue like that.
this show is terrible, almost as bad as Mencia or Silverman

reply

I wish comedy central would stop trying to be offensive and just make genuine funny shows again...

I wouldn't be caught dead with a necrophiliac.

i actually find halfway home pretty smart. it has a lot of hidden humor. same with the sarah silverman program. her shows a lot funnier than halfway home but i dont think either should be cancelled.
