The IMDB rating on this stuns me...
This movie was terrible, and deserves no more than a 4/10.

Making a thread to say that, really?
Can you not understand the concept of a persons opinion?
Now I don't know why you dislike the movie and quite frankly I do not care, it is after all just a film.
If it wasn't your genre why did you watch it? I believe people who like gun shooting, explosion ridden violence for the sake of violence movies are Luddites, but its their call and I'm not going to belittle their opinions neither would I people who believe that Harry Potter, Twilight, Paranormal activity or any of the other franchises shoved down our throats are decent films.
But really, if your going to discuss a movie and wish to criticize it on forums then at least say something smart, something well written, something informative or really.....just something more than 10 words saying that you don't like it.
aw... the movie is one of my all time favorites and i gave it a 10!

If everyone goes to heaven after they die... how come no one wants to go first?
i cannot believe this movie got such a high rating either, i just watched this on tv, & felt ripped off even though i saw it for free! The trailer i saw made it look like a black comedy about 2 old dudes doing alot of fun stuff before they die, when in fact most of it was serious & sad in tone with very few lighter moments. I don't know why film makers feel the need to lie to people in trailers, ....well actually i do, its because they know the movies rubbish & try & get people to go watch it anyway they can.
shareI liked the movie quite a bit. Probably because I am a big fan of Nicholson and Freeman. Yes it was predictable and sappy(a tearjerker,) but it was still watchable in my opinion and has a good message. Although I don't know why it would be rated so high either. And I don't think it should be rated lower because it is a "BAD FILM" in anyway, it's just a very SIMPLE film. I don't see how It would be hard to come up with the plot or direct it and I don't think easy to make films should be rated as high as well directed hard to make films. So simplicity is what brings it down for me(although it doesn't necessarily take away from the greatness of the film.)
shareReally enjoyed it. I thought the middle bit when they were globetrotting/skydiving etc. was pretty average, but the beginning where they met and the ending were excellent. Acting itself was tremendous from everybody and I'm glad I watched it.
shareI enjoy this film
shareThe movie seemed really fake. That's not at all how people that are terminally ill act or what they go through. Plus Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman just played the same type of characters we've seen them both play many times before. Nicholson is some wild crazy fool, Freeman is once AGAIN playing the wise, deep thinking pious man. Screw this schmaltzy crap. There are better movies out there that deal with cancer in more realistic, truly touching ways. This looked like a high school play or made for TV movie. Morgan Freeman's narration reminded me of that Simpons or Family Guy episode where they had Freeman on saying something like "I'm Morgan Freeman, and people like hearing the sound of my voice, and hearing me narrate things..."
John Mayer's song is one of the only good things about this movie.
This was a very good film. It's too bad you didn't "get" the movie. It wasn't trying to be anything other than what it was. A movie to make you think and re-think about how you live your life. As another post stated, were you really surprised by the lack of gun fights?
PS In "real" cancer movies the character would just be sitting in a bed going through chemo and getting bald. I wouldn't sit through 2 hours of that. It's a movie. Get involved with cinema for what it is...a movie!

I never watched the movie before, because I thought it was dumb. But I spent some time in the hospital this year, and I decided it was better than listening to some idiot shouting at the top of his voice "NURSE HELP ME, I WANT TO BE OUT OF THE ROOM!" And 3 minutes later, he wants back in the room. So, I thought watching this movie would be better.
About half way through, I thought, Wow, this actually a pretty good picture, considering the subject. I fixed the rating I put in a 9. HAH!
Just so many stupid things, Should we really believe that Edward was responsible for pulling the cord while skydiving? Oh, and I happened to know where Kopi Luwak comes from and those animals are not wild as it was suggested but caught and kept in cages.
shareEdward didnt pull it at all.

Would you agree to respond on this further with your "REAL" age. it would be interesting to see if my theory is wrong or right.
