A question about the Mann, Rommily and Kipp incident…

Mann booby traps Kipp, that is made clear, but was he intending for Rommily to die the moment he asked to probe Kip for data or was he maybe hoping that he wouldn’t access the sequencing needed to initiate the bomb? It just seems odd that Mann would take Cooper out, as well as Rommily yet still go ahead with the mission. Was Mann planning on seeing the mission through all by himself from the jump (the moment he was awakened)?
Also, I’m a little fuzzy on how they dropped each team member off at their assigned planet, as it relates to Mann’s team. There was only one ranger, so a pilot would fly the team members down to their assigned planets, help them unload their supplies and then fly back to the endurance to fly the next team member to their planet?
And I could be wrong but weren’t there two teams that didn’t make it through the work hole? For the teams that did, what happened to their space craft, (Endurance and Ranger)?
