Finally saw it all the way through....loved that ending.


I really liked this flick. The ending, while plenty would argue wasn't "realistic" was original and made me smile. I don't know that I've seen that resolution to the "big fight" in a boxing movie before.

Believe it or not, the Clint Eastwood movie Every Which Way But Loose had a similar ending, when it's very clear that Eastwood can win the bare knuckle brawl he is engaged in with his nemesis, Tank Murdock, but he realizes, at that moment, that it isn't what he really wants, so he lets the other guy win.

I actually thought the ending made more sense in the Eastwood flick. It didn't work as well in The Hammer. Although The Hammer is otherwise a very good movie.

Thanks for calling attention to the Eastwood classic Every Which Way but Loose. This movie should be shown in schools more often.
