So weirdly and crazily bad it's kinda hypnotic

I mainly watched it to see how bad it was and after watching it I felt like it was one of those metaphorical car crashes you can't look away from. The guru character was so strange and gleefully demented.. The idea that anyone would take anything he said seriously, let alone a beautiful woman falling in love with him, is pure fantasy.. I get that though, it's supposed to be a "wacky" comedy..

But yeah I think this might have been a case of them giving mike meyers too much control over it and him kind of high on himself from the Austin powers movies. The thing is (IMO) this movie is definitely not boring.. In that respect it held my attention, and I found myself remembering absurd little things about the movie later. Plus there are a few genuinely funny and/or clever bits here and there..

I'd rank this though as one of those movies that's pretty bad but in kind of an entertaining way. I've seen some horrible and boring comedies and those are a lot worse to me. Some people get really uncomfortable when they see extreme strangeness, and some kind of enjoy it. (people who hate or love Tim and Eric for example are like this). To me I kind of appreciate a movie that takes risks, even if they fail miserably. Those movies are more entertaining than most of the mediocre garbage in the genre.. Just my 2 cents
