Just saw the last part of Prime Suspect 7.
I know they all said it was going to be the last, as 'Jane' has retired from the force, but it would be a neat twist if they made a P.S.8 and Jane was the victim. May be a stalker of someone she had put away? What do you think...? In any event, it would be nice to find out what her life was like after leaving the force.
No, I don't think that would be a neat twist. That, to me, would seem cruel. I would love to see her do a Comic Relief pairing with David Jason, from Touch of Frost. She has previously done one with Robbie Coltrane, from Cracker. You can find it on youtube, as Prime Cracker. It's amusing, though not quite laugh outloud funny. I think she would have interesting chemistry with Jason, as their characters are somewhat similar (obsessive, but heads with superiors, failed relationships).
I could see Tennison brought in as a consultant by a colleague, either based on a past case or just consulted for her experience. However, it would take a very good script, especially after the last one.
