Alexis: one thing that bothers me

If Alex Meade was straight, then wouldn't that mean that Alexis would be a lesbian? But suddenly she's into guys! It doesn't make sense.

I think Alex/Alexis saw herself as a woman attracted to men. When she was a man, she dated women because that was acceptable to Bradford. But when she decided to become a woman, she followed her true attractions and sexuality.

I agree

Actually, in one of the DVD commentaries in Season 1 Michael Urie pointed that out. I think him and Vanessa Williams just decided she was bisexual.

Weather or not she/he had been planning it for years, Make up and heels take practice. Girls [often] start from toddler hood [playing with mommy's shoes and make up] trying to learn how to be "lady-like". Some never learn, so its not hard to bealive that someone who had forgotten how to do these things would have difficulty.

I'm watching the show now and that made no sense whatsoever. I'm glad someone else feels (or felt haha) the same way.

A lot of people who are uncomfortable about their sexuality date the people their "supposed to" and hide from who they really are because they are afraid to deal with it.

The part that really bothered me about Alexis was in the first few episodes with her. When she and Wilhelmina got stuck at that bar, she was acting like a jock. If she had always felt like she was a woman in a man's body, would she have really been that into sports? I would think she would have felt more like an outsider.

reply

A woman? Liking sports? Preposterous! Unheard of! Unfathomable! A woman has to love makeup, boys, clothes, and cooking, not sports. That's a mans job!....

Seriously? It's just a matter of what you like is what you like. She obviously liked sports so why would that change?
