Kind of a silly question....but blood on the train?

How did that get cleaned up night to night? I know we have to infer someone does it, but really, THAT much blood and its completely clean the "next night" without any questions?

Thought it was kind of a WTF moment since its been happening for over 100 years.

In the short story, there was a team of workers who regularly cleaned up the train after each slaughter.

reply

oic, I never read the short story, so I figured something like this would be helpful to know about in the movie....LOL.

Thanks!

I was just thinking the same thing when I saw the first half hour of the movie last night, especially after he cut that woman's head off and you saw all the blood on the floor. I turned it off after the conductor shot the Guardian Angel dude, cause it was too gory for me.

reply

As the conductor said in the film...

"I'm very disappointed in you Mahogany. Clean up your mess."

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.

Crime-scene investigators analysing CCTV footage would trace many missing-persons to the carriages and subsequently pick it up in UV if they were any good? And what about the absence of any blood-splatters on VJ's suit when he's bludgeoning the victims?

Will somebody get this big walking carpet out of my way?!

reply

The cop that Bradley Cooper went to knew about it. It's safe to say she's even a lower level cop, I'm sure the higher ups are even more involved in covering up the disappearances. I think I remember cooper's lady friend saying "people disappear all the time in this city". Plus without any bodies being found, they probably wouldn't launch a full on csi just because someone is missing.

I'm questioning the population. Wouldn't it dwindle down after hundreds of years of at least 5-6 people a night being murdered?

thats what gets me also. with so many people involved in this ritual or whatever, its easy to believe they have some workers cleaning up the train, a good hose down doesnt take long. but killing multiple people EVERY DAY, ok, the news wouldnt report on all of them, but having multiple people completely disappear everyday would be enough to make me want to move out the city

Just one of many gaping holes in this splatter-fest.
