What a bloody ridiculous idea for a film

I saw the trailer for this before watching 'No Country For Old Men'(which I recommend) at the cinema and I had to get out of the room in order to compose myself and recover. For goodness sake. Why the hell would anyone want to watch a film in which people were TORTURED until they ELECTRICUTED their own family? How much more depressing and depraved can you get.

It's obviously just trying to cash in on the success of Saw - they could have at least tried to disguise this by coming up with a remotely different name. Was? - that's basically just Saw backwards.

Also, so that it isn't considered just gratuitous violence for the sake of it (which lets face it - it is) They have some bloody ridiculous thing about carving Algebra into the dead peoples bodies. ALGEBRA! What the hell?

How horrific will the premise of these types of film have to be before people decide the film makers have gone too far? Killing pets of something? I shudder to think.

@JDV,

If you think this movie is bad because you think it's based on torture, wait until you see the plot and basis for the movie, "Precious"!

Dumb and very unrealistic movie. First half was excellent but then (spoilers starts here) when it came clear that the killer is the bitch (how did she capture those hard core muscular killers with such an ease?) and has a reasoning that she can do torture killings for old grandma's and little children for justify her own fate film starts to get way off. Most ridiculous thing is the ending where the lead role (excellent acting from SkarsgÄrd btw) guy turns out to be gay (yeah, right, really homosexual kind of person with a pinkie lifted up when sipping tea) and turns himself voluntary to the bitch to be tortured and killed then we have a real turd in our hands. Why not just kill the bitch and start looking for that other gay person? You would have at least a few days to find him before he starves. Also it was pretty clear that at least one of them would die a nasty death which would ruin the "relationship" anyhow. Most likely the bitch would have killed them both if she had half a brain.

This film makes a very powerful and provocative point about how far one would be willing to go for someone that they love. It's actually a very ingenious idea for a film.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
