Lane Pryce.

What a fantastic character.
I've finished the show but still think about his death.
Amazing character, I was really sad when he died.
He we basically one of my favorite characters, if not my favorite.

reply

agreed; the series died when he did.

reply

Really? He wasn't even a big character. Why would his death ruin the show for you?

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

reply

Yeah, his death sucked.

I agree about the actor he played an amazing villain in Fringe too 

I really liked Lane as well. He was very tragic. He was always bossed around and belittled by his wife, father, bosses at PPL, etc.

reply

I really, really liked his character. I bet there wasn't a single viewer who wasn't rooting for him.
I became a Jared Harris fan because of his role. He made such an impact to have only been in 35 episodes.

I remember the viewers being genuinely shocked over his death. I think it was because he had the failed attempt in the Jaguar before, so we wrongly assumed he was going to be okay and press on. About his death scene, I remember reading that the other actors in the scene weren't told of his fate, so the looks they gave when they saw him were genuine shock because they had no idea it was in the script..

When his character was first introduced it seemed like he was going to be a dick and then during the episode with the lawnmower it was easier to relate with him.

reply

Oh gosh. I remember that lawn mower episode!

One thing to remember about Lane Pryce is that when he was first assigned to his job by the Brits at Sterling Cooper, one of his major duties was: firing people. A lot. All the time. And never caring much about the pain he was causing. It was only business, part of his "bean counter duties."

I think folks forgot that Lane Pryce started out that way which was why his fate was quite fitting actually: Don Draper FIRED him, despite his pleas for mercy, his begging, his contention that he was going to replace the money, etc.

Lane Pryce finally ended up on the receiving end of what he had spent a career doing to other people.
