it distracted from the story seeing her all fat and sweaty looking. and her clothes looked the had been fashioned out of bed sheets and old curtains. she looked like she was sweating oil.

shareShe was supposed to look pudgy and realistic; Reese Witherspoon always seems to look sort of glamorous in anything when she's thin, the extra weight plus some bad hair and the thick accent are there for a reason. The clothes were badly fashioned because it was 1993, she had a job to go to. Job outfits are rarely EVER glamorous unless you wor in stripping.
She's not there just to be eye candy, she's trying to portray the part of a woman who really went through this. I thought she played a great part.
