The entrance to Winthrop says "Richard Miller University" now. Very cool. And they are using Tillman Hall, it's now called "Tagert Hall"
Until on the Day when He says Rise only the flat-iron would come floating up.
I heard that they're filming some in Margaret Nance, too, which is where I lived my freshman year at Winthrop. Little bit of trivia: a girl committed suicide in the top floor of the Nance and so it has since been closed off. Kinda spooky. I also heard ghost stories that Tillman (I think) used to be a jail, like maybe for the workers who built the school. Oh, and Withers was used in Carrie 2, I believe.

I'm on the 3rd floor of Nance and I always noticed how they had one more floor and I went up the first set of stairs once but it was really hot up there and smelled horrible and the door was shut anyways...

Sorry to ruin the ghost story but the only thing above the 3rd floor in MN is a musty old attic space - never an actual living area. Hardly enough room to stand up much less hang yourself (which is always the story I've heard, but never been able to authenticate.)
shareOk, no the ghost story about the nance is that the girl committed suicide and her parents were too ashamed to come get her stuff, so the school moved all of her belongings into the attic, and apparently like her stuff is haunted and you can hear it moving around up in the attic. It's lame. I was an extra, for all of 15 seconds of filming. We'll see if I end up on the screen.
shareI just got out of my 12:00 class, so I had to walk across the set in front of Byrnes while they were filming. Some lady told me just to walk by and act like nothing was around me, which was weird.
shareYeah, it is wierd. I walked through a group of people acting slightly odd near bancroft. Apparently the cameras were rolling so I might see my back in the movie. :)

I was trying to find the finacial aid office today but all the rooms were relabled "Richard Miller University" which made it very hard to find the room (ended up having to ask someone).
