Top 3 Final Fantasys

I chose to post on this game because i felt thered be more ppl looking, and to clarify i have only played VII on so i havent played the classics, but here are my 3 favorites and why

1. Final Fantasy IX - I feel the overall cast of characters (playable and non playable) is among the greatest ever, the music was phenomenal and loved the 4 man parties =P.

2. Final Fantasy X - The story was just incredible, probably the best ending ever and i loved the unique leveling system.

3. Final Fantasy VII - The music was amazing probably better than IX, loved the characters (minus Cait Sith -_-), and of course Sephiroth who is probably my favorite FF character.

My favorites are 7, 10, and 12. There aren't really any I don't like playing, though.

X was garbage in my opinion. Only thing worth anything in that game is the sphere grid and Auron.

1. 7, easily. Perhaps the best game ever. Certainly the richest, deepest story ever. I mean it had THEMES for chrissake! And some of the twists!

2. 8 had quite an emotionally thrilling story, let down by junctioning and pacing issues. 12 had a rich story, witty dialogue and mature characters however and addictive open-ended gameplay. Lush game world too.

3. 10 had a good mix of character, sotry and gameplay.

You could just as easily play FF8 without Junctioning any magic at all. The game gets better that way, and you can use magic without fearing your dear stat boosts wear off.

I agree also:

1.-FFVII

2.- FFVIII

3.- FFX

Special mention to FFVI and IX though, both were excellent as well.

FFXII and XIII are both decent RPG's, but lack the charm and magic of a real Final Fantasy game.

1. FF7 - the original and best, everyone's favourite

2. FF8 - i actually really liked the Triple Triad game

3. FF12 - probably my favourite battle system, excellent real-time and using the gambits

all had fantastic battle systems, an FF game is only as good as it's battle-system allows it to be

Final Fantasy 10: This one is first simply because it opened my eyes to final fantasy and it made me fall in love with rpgs in general. And Lulu is my favorite character in the entire series.

Final Fantasy 12: This one is second because I love the leveling system and the story is cool. I also liked the add in of different species of npcs. Then there was the fact that anyone could use any weapon. And it is really hard to choose which weapon is the best type.

Final Fantasy 13: I love this one because I have a thing for strong female leads. And the fact that the story is so big and has so many different parts. It's nice seeing that the party is divided when it comes to goals. If you play this game right, it doesn't even matter that it is so one way.

And just to inform you, I started with Final Fantasy for the super Nintendo.

It is impossibly difficult to say which ones are in the top 3. I'll give it a try.

1. FF XII - There is so much to do here. All the side quests, leveling, secrets, everything. Wrap it around an epic quest with intrigue, betrayal, and great characters.

2. FF IV - I can remember when the Nintendo Power with FFII came out. I took that magazine with me everywhere and had the first half of the game memorized before I'd even played it, and it still didn't disappoint. I loved how every character came and went and it was filled with so many touching moments.

3. FF VI - Kefka was awesome. First real game with sidequests and the world of ruin was a completely open playground. Should I go do the towe of magic or go get the phoenix? Should I get Odin or fly forever in the Airship for the Dragon? The choices were seemingly endless and the Atma weapon was a thing of beauty. If you first looked at the damage you did you may not have been impressed, but when you're over 6grand, lookout.

Honorable mentions.
X - at any given moment, this could be #1. I love this game as much as any of the top three and thinnk it's fantastic.

FF TACTICS - Such a deep game for such a simple looking one. I love the infinite variances involved.
