Why did they have to destroy all the sweded films?
That part did not make any sense at all. The law would have protected all these films if they just said tgat they were parodies. (which they actually were)

shareOne of the biggest problems was that the films were actually recorded onto the rental cassettes. Those were the property of the distributors and it's illegal to temper with them commercially. If they had recorded their films onto store bought VHS tapes they might have been able to argue away the content.
Why do people so frequently get told to read the book on a movie database?
Not to mention they didn't change the title of the movies or alter any character names around.
To be fair, the tapes were destroyed out of court, so they didn't even get to argue anything.
