if this were real, would the copyright infringement laws stand?

I'm kind of confused, because in the movie some lawyers arrive at Mr. Fletcher's video store and confiscate/destroy all the "Sweded" movies Jack Black and Mos Deb made (parodies based on famous movies but actually using totally original talent and ideas and production).

If this had happened in real life, would the lawyers have really been able to do that?

I guess what confuses me is that the movie "Be Kind Rewind" itself would seem to be in copyright infringement of all those dozens of movies if the answer is yes. So how did Michel Gondry get around that? (Or did the studio that produced Be Kind Rewind get permission for all those movies to be portrayed?)

The movies that they make are based on movies that are already been made. If they didn't use them for making money, then they violated nothing. But they did rent them out to people for money; hence they violated the copyright law.

A lot youtube videos are parodies or remakes of things that are already created and copyrighted, but they never get in trouble because they are just doing it for fun and not gaining any money out of it except for viewers and subscribers.

Well, you do realise that today, well over 3 years after your comment, there are many people making a damn healthy living just from YouTube views, right?
In fact, the top YouTube "stars" (urgh, I feel dirty using that description in the context of some of the mundane sh!t many of these worthless idiots spew out) make an absolutely insane amount of cash - a vlogger with 10 million subscribers like Zoella is apparently making £50,000 A MONTH! (~70,000 USD)
