Teenage girl who saw and enjoyed this movie? Judging from other people's posts, the target audience seemed to be middle aged men, however I absolutely loved this movie. I guess a big part of it was because I desperately wanted to be Shirley... that is at least until things began spinning out of control. I also felt I could relate to her...I'm one of the "nerdy" girls, I'm slightly obsessive compulsive, and I feel absolutely no attraction to boys my own age, but rather middle-age ones. (I was also a junior like her when I first saw this movie, but am now a senior.)

I was just wondering if there were any other teenaged girls out there who lusted after John Leguizamo's character as well, or if I'm just a COMPLETE freak?

I liked this movie. I would never do that kind of stuff because I am one of those girls that would be like "ew he's old". I like my guys to be no more than 5 years older than me and I have never had a problem dating someone my own age (20). Buuut John Leguizamo is pretty damn hot..

if you're a freak then so am I! As long as I live I will be attracted to older men. Teenage boys are gross. I definitely saw myself in Shirley and wanted to be her, but in real life I would never go to the lengths that she would. and YES, I love John Leguizamo!

As a girl who doesn't care for the immaturity of boys, I thought this was a movie that finally gets it, and clearly I'm not the weird lone one out there. I think the scene in the diner when shes sees him and his wife while the high school boys are playing like total children captures it all without saying much. It also says alot that these were the intelligent girls not all the bitchy ones. But sorry I have to go with John L.'s friend in this one. I know he was supposed to be the jerk but he actually helped the girls out several times and plus there was something about his quote in the cabin when he said we give something special to these girls. I know alot of men were just thinking, "wow this would be awesome for me."

Why in the world would you "desperately want" to be a teenage hooker and madam?!!

I'm sure you could find a better career than screwing middle-aged men in their cars for money. Seriously.
