What is there to like about this film?!?

I really don't get why some people think "Mirrors" is an average film, let alone a good film. The plot makes no sense whatsoever and is quite an insult to the intelligence of its viewers. One cliché is followed by the other without any consistency whatsoever, making this film as bland as any horror film could be. Please explain to me the appeal of this film because I just don't get how anyone can actually like ANYTHING about this film. It's probably the worst horror film I've seen since "Tokyo Gore Police" and I've seen quite a few films in this genre.

People just have different preferences. What you hated about the movie, someone else may have not been bothered by, or even liked. I thought it was pretty terrible (3/10), but it's still nowhere near as bad as movies like White Noise, Ghost Ship, Boogeyman, The Devil's Rejects, etc. At least, in my opinion.

Top 5 I've seen in 2010: Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, Revolutionary Road, Rear Window, Ponyo

Yeah, I thought it was pretty lame... The general idea has some possibilities for a really cool movie, but this one didn't do it for me.

But as far as things to like, I watched the opening credits probably a half-dozen times just to hear the music; awesome arrangement of that piece!!

Kiefer Sutherland.

That is all.

To appreciate films like this you have to appreciate the craft and atmosphere because the story itself is ridiculous. I'd like to see what the director could do with a better story because the director definitely has talent.

I like to think of remakes as advertisements for the original films.
