among the best new horror films I have seen!

What amazes me is that Prom Night took in 22 mill and is really not good, in fact it's downright lame. Fingerprints is more original, scary, interesting, fun, and yet it did not get a chance to play theaters. Why? Because it's not a remake. That's all these studios want and they are right in a sick, twisted sorta way because people are familiar with the product and are, therefore, more likely to go see it.

But for my money, RENT FINGERPRINTS!

Agreed. This film was very spooky and effective.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

I really like the idea of the kids helping kids, reminiscent of Lady in White from the '80s, one of my favorites... this movie has serious flaws, the gory kills are badly prepared and paced, the ending is ridiculous.

Other than that I do really like the movie, though the parents also were rather one dimensional... good dad, crazy one dimensional mom, who was annoying.

This movie has some awesome moments, and the ghost story arc is fantastic... also, Lou Diamond Philips is always good.

I gave it a 7 though.

You are spot-on in this film's strength's and weaknesses, Kittysafe. It's rare for a film to have much stronger actors playing the youths than the adults, but that was the case here (though Lou Diamond Phillips gave his usual fine performance, for as long as he lasted).

I liked this film quite a bit at first when it was more of a mood piece, but once it became a slasher it went downhill fast for me. I could muster only 5/10 for this. I think this was neither excellent nor horrible, but it could and should have been better.
