Who since seeing In Bruges the film has decided to holiday in Bruges!

Ever since I saw the film In Bruges I always wanted to visit there. Has anybody else been because you saw the film and thought I would love to see if it is as nice as it looks on film!. I must say its as good a place as I expected to see!. What do you think!!!

It's certainly a place I would go to based on how it was showcased in the film. All the while Ferrel's character protested being relegated to Bruges, and deriding it, I was thinking quite the opposite myself. It'll be a stretch getting to go there anytime soon though, as i'll be living in Japan for work for a few years…just a bit too much to charge on Airfare when I could vacation in places like Vietnam or Thailand.

I am actually in Bruges right now from Mon 2nd Thurs 5th. I have the Christmas Market is a let down, and not that many people here at this time of the year, Also no boat site seeing tour as the weather is very cold, and atmosphere not like it was was in August when weather was amazing and atmosphere was out of the world. If you want a nice basic holiday just got a deal £229.00 for Euro star Novotel 3 star hotel and Bed And Breakfast for three days. Incredible Restaurant Gruuthusesehof, Mariastraat 36, 8000, Brugge. Had a cheap 3 course meal Soup, Steak and Desert 18.49 Euros. Steak with 3.50 Peppercorn Sauce was incredible. Went through a list of restaurants on trip adviser and most restaurants are pretty expensive. The Olive is Tree is very good but pretty expensive like most places!

Thank You-I sent your info to my daughter who is there now studying. I hope the restaurant is still there.

Visiting Deutschland in April 2014. A side trip to Bruges is on my itinerary. Never heard of the place prior to this film. I will avoid manky prostitutes and dwarfs.

Bruges is great, but there are plenty of places in Holland and Germany that are similar to what you see in In Bruges. Maastricht in South of Holland is amazing

reply

you have got to be kidding?? You are not seriously comparing Maastricht to Bruge?

- "is this the secret headquarters of the gestapo?"
- "It was"

I'd been to Bruges before seeing the movie, but it was only for one summer afternoon. I finished watching it just now, and I'd love to revisit Bruges for Christmas.

Swag

I did the exact opposite, really. I've been to Bruges twice and only watched the movie because I had been there.

I'd love to go back again, but I've been there twice and there is much more I'd like to see.

I got the DVD for Christmas and decided to visit Bruges in my next holiday after I'd watched the movie.

I traveled alone and was impressed by the kindness of the people. Also I was surprised of many young tourists there and the moderate prices in shops and restaurants. I hope I can go there again soon.

you should visit ghent also, it's only 20 km from bruge. It's a bigger city with buildings of the same age but less tourists but a lot more to do and see.
