ANYBODY LOVE THIS MOVIE ?
Love this movie !
shareI loved this movie but I guess it's because I'm a big fan of Chris Rock. Gina Torres and Kerry Washington were great and it was good to see different leading ladies. It made me laugh and cry......and it was a big improvement over "POOTIE TANG."
shareYep! I own it! It was much better than I thought it was going to be. In fact when I need a good laugh it is one of the movies I pop in!
shareI was afraid to see it since Rock disappointed me with every movie he starred in previously. *I eventually took a shine to Pootie Tang after hating it in the theater*
I might check it out since I've heard some good things about it.
I'm a fan of Chris Rock's standup routines, but this is one of the worst movies I ever saw.
His character should have just told Nikki to leave him alone and stop calling.
Or, if he was going to be a cheating SOB, then go ahead and do it.
I hated that they called the firm Pupkin and Langford, a reference to a truly funny movie, King of Comedy.
No! I think this movie is dated, forgettable, pointless and unbelievabe.
Chris Rock as a buttoned-down executive!?
Chris Rock is one-note, not an actor, but a comedian.
PS - Chris, stick to silly comedies.
just saw it, and some of you guys hit it right on, this movie is under-rated. A lot better than I thought. Very funny, good lines, and Kerry Washington-so hot. I went into the movie thinking it's just a big joke, but it actually had a good meaning, very well played, and good performance. I really like it.
shareLove is too strong of an emotion for a movie. This movie is entertaining and communicates the message that all men understand....Sex sells. Most of us have great lives, families, jobs, wives. All of us have minds and eyes that wonder sometimes....
This movie let's us see the train wreck that is waiting when you shift from minds and eyes, to actually stepping into an extra marital affair. If you can move Chris Rock out of the niche of a stand up comedian and let his acting/directing show you another facet in his bag of tricks, you will find a good, entertaining movie that will spark some discussion in your home.
I didn't love it but I enjoyed it. The singing at the end was stupid though.
Vista would have f worded Nikki however.
this movie kicked a$$. Although i'm bias cause i think chris should be allowed to do whatever he wants now and i was just happy to see him onscreen again
shareDidn't love it but it was clearly better than I expected, particularly the writing. Provokes more serious thought on a subject that requires it while remaining enjoyable and entertaining. Contains a few pearls of wisdom, such as "You can lose lots of money chasing women, but you will NEVER lose women chasing money".
"A Lincoln is better than a Cadillac? Forggidaboudit!"
I thought this was an important movie about introspection & the institution of marriage. To me, it was about taking pause. Too many of us go through the motions and follow baser instincts regardless of the consequences to ourselves and others. I think Chris' character made me squirm every time he made a terrible decision, and that's a good thing.
shareLove this movie. Showed it to my buddy and we both agree there are so many great one-liners and memorable quotes.
Example. When Chris Rock and his wife (Gina Torres) go to the auto show. They look at nothing but mini-vans and station wagons.
Rock's narration to the audience:
"Going to the auto show and looking at mini-vans is like going to a strip club and hanging out with the D.J." (I was crying that is such a funny line!)
