::Gasp:: I thought it was good...

Just saw the film...I liked it. Is that wrong? I think people are looking for something in the film that isn't there, and wasn't intended to be there. This is a light-hearted, no frills type of film...Surely there are some cliche metaphors, but it still comes off deeper than most light-hearted american style romantic films.

The only thing that truly bothered me was the cinematography...It screamed 1990s Law & Order Flashback...The whole slow mo visual trails thing...Annoying

I didn't think Natalie was as bad as people are making her out to be in this film. I agree, she gets on my nerves, too...I think it's the whole talkative immature role that she seems to be typecasted in that's ruining her. I prefer her in a more womanly, mature role...She seems to thrive in that (Darjeeling Limited). Quirkiness is fine, that's who she is, but the abnoxious whiney immature thing should have been ditched 5 years ago.

I liked it too, and I loved the cinematography :) It certainly wasn't an action movie or even really driven by a particular story line. It was just an insight into people's lives through Elisabeth, and how these experiences changed her. I thought it was great.

I really liked it too. All of my friends think it is a disappointing and bad movie. I don't understand them at all!! I've watched it about 5 times, and I think it is a beautiful film. I really love it.

I thought it was good too. I mean, until I actually started watching it.

I really liked it. What a charming movie it was, was expecting to see a mediocre film since the so-called Wong-Kar-Wai fans here bashed it so harshly but got a almost everything I would expect from WKW. Only part I didn't like was the Natalia Portman's story.

I agree. I liked this movie, i've watched it at least 5 times now and its still good. I think the cinematography is on point. The soundtrack and even the script are entertaining, imo.

Nope, loved it!!!!

I got put off it because it got so horribly slated by the critics at the time and also I wasn't convinced Norah Jones was a good enough actress to be cast in a feature film (LOVE her as a singer/musician/ songwriter however).

The cinematography annoyed me also and I thought Natalie was good. Her accent however was a little shocking. I'm English and even I could have done a better Southern accent. She dropped a lot of her last words which is a massive no-no with that accent as upward inflection and elongation is key.

Overall, loved this film.
