Absolutely awful film

How on earth did atrocious film get 7.5 in the ratings?

Awful editing, no suspense whatsoever, annoying characters, boring as hell. I turned it off after an hour because I couldn't bear the boredom any longer.

One of, if not, the worst vampire films of all time. Makes The Twilight look like a masterpiece.

I don't understand why you thought this was so bad. The character of the priest turning into his worst nightmare and killing and drinking the blood of the patients at the hospital is fantastic and original. And then, the young wife trapped in a marriage from hell with her in-laws and sick, weak, and super dork husband, is trapped in a nightmare where she has to be the slave to this man child and his crazy parents. The vampire priest gives her the curse and she wants nothing more than to use her powers to destroy these losers. How is that boring? Too much dialogue and character development? Are you one of those people that need action every 5 minutes? Oh well, your loss then. But...you might like "I Saw the Devil", a gritty and violent serial killer film that is NOT boring in the least.

Whilst I felt Thirst's narrative could have been shortened, it was still an intriguing film of a passionate yet volatile love affair. Disagree with comments of awful editing and no suspense, Thirst was well edited and quite suspenseful thanks to its musical score.

I thought it was very good. You didn't watch the whole thing. Your assessment is null and void.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Ah, here we go again. Every movie - or almost - has one of these posts. "Worst Movie Ever Made!" "Don't Waste Your Time." "Utter Rubbish."

And then somewhere or other, somebody throws in that hipster "one stop shopping" insult: PRETENTIOUS.

I've seen it over and over and over and over and over again. Do any of these people even know what the word means? If so, how does it apply to what they are describing as "pretentious?" Or would some of these people reply: "A film that is trying to be what it is not." And what the hell does THAT mean?

"Oh, it's trying to be grand and important, but it's just stupid." OH - and WHY IS THAT? HOW IS THAT? What in hell are you people talking about? Just about any movie ever made that tried to produce something that might be viewed as art can then be called pretentious. After all - they were all JUST movies, right?

The movie is garbage. Tough tits if you don't like my vernacular.

I suggest you give it another try. I'm not a big fan of Korean movies but I've seen a couple I liked so I gave this a try. Wasn't liking it much during the first hour and, like you, I was thinking of quitting. But I didn't, and started getting into it during the second hour. The characters, especially the main two, got stronger and more believable, and I really liked the final scene. 7/10

I saw the movie for the first time today on Encore and loved it. Yes, by usual commercial American standards it was long and sometimes tedious, but for a work of art it was beautiful. I wasn't familiar with any of the actors, but they all gave great and some master performances. The two leading actors were terrific. The nudity was well placed. I was even surprised to see the frontal nudity of the male actor. It was done tastefully.

I imagine younger viewers and those used to "normal" Hollywood productions found it hard to understand or even get through, but I enjoyed it and look forward to seeing it again. I've also become a fan of Kang-ho Son,Ok-bin Kim, and Eric Ebouaney.

LOL, stick to Twilight or even Count Chocula or maybe The Count from Sesame Street. Would probably be right up your alley. Great film unless your'e a child and need True Blood.

This is my favorite Park Chan Wook film, and most likely my favorite vampire film.

I love its quiet and unhurried beginning.

I love how it develops its romance.

Both main characters have real motivations behind their actions, and the plot takes time to build this.

But then when the time comes for them to face up to reality, the plot is ready.

I have NO IDEA what anyone is talking about when they say this film is edited badly. It is perfect. It moves the story forward in the best way possible. And it is beautiful and lyrical. I have come back to it multiple times because it moves me.
