We Are Mashall vs Remember the Titans

Both We Are Marshall and Remember the Titans are inspirational football films. I am just curious which film people like better and why.

Remember the Titans is the best football film ever made in my opinion. The overall cast is better and although the story behind We Are Marshall is very emotional, I find the story of having to integrate a black and white school to play together on the same team with a black head coach for Remember the Titans to be much more engaging.

We Are Marshall was not a terrible film, although I do feel that Matthew McConaughey was mis-cast and it was a bit slow moving a times. Remember the Titans, not only had a great cast, and awesome football action, but it also developed the characters equally as well.

What I can't get is how some posters can like one of these flicks but not the other, no matter which one they prefer. I'll take Titans even if I like both, but think they have a very similar feel.

"Remember the Titans" is actually pretty similar to "Rudy" in that it was "based" on a true story, but almost all the details were changed.

"We Are Marshall," from what I have read, is somewhat more true to actual facts, although plenty of dramatic license was taken in that story as well.

In both movies, the climactic game was completely rewritten for a more dramatic finish.

Contrast that to "Hoosiers," in which the storyline was very much changed, but the final-seconds play of the decisive game is pretty much taken straight from history -- Maris Valainis (Jimmy) hit his jump shot from within inches of where Bobby Plump hit the real jumper for Milan High in 1954.

Neither. I prefer Friday Night Lights.
