was it were his towel fell and they immediately cut to the next scene. it was like only for a millisecond!!!!

reply

the towel didn't fall (besides it was more of a see-through sheet not a towel) he deliberately let it go, didn't you see the look on his face? It was a very beautiful scene, that's all I can say. It's nice to see men nude for a change

originally the was going to be nudity in this movie, ONLY one scene, where raj drops his towel, i think he only showed his butt, BUT the censor board in india told sanjay that his movie woudl get a high rating if he left that scene in. SO sanjay cut that scene and got a low rating so that audiences might now shy away from his film.

reply

haha. SLB should have left the scene in anyways, in retrospect.

reply

dude the scene was left in there in the American screening and I'm sure it will be on the official director's cut DVD.

legally their not aloud to do that in an american movie, if its pg. pg is legally a kids movie in the americas so if they wanted to keep the rating they would have had to have dropped the scene, personally i think if its going to be pg it should be for kids, like shrek is in no way a movie for children, just alot of sex jokes that have been toned down for small audiances. outragious. we are all losing our morals, and substatuting them with desire and apathy.

Actually, there's nothing "legal" about the ratings. The mpaa system is entirely voluntary on the part of the film makers and distributors. That is, no one has to submit a film for a rating (but nearly everyone does). Also, the only film rating that requires no nudity is the G rating. (By the way, the G rating does not make it a "kids'" movie, either. The mpaa web site itself states: "The G rating is not a “certificate of approval,” nor does it signify a “children’s” motion picture.") PG movies can contain, and have contained, brief nudity, as well as profanity and some depictions of violence. Jaws, Airplane!, and Splash are three that come to mind.

The advent of the PG-13 rating solved some of the problem of the PG rating. The ultimate criteria for the ratings remains a bit of a mystery to the general public, though.

One thing that is certain--to say that they are not "legally" allowed to show nudity in a PG film simply isn't true.

Thank you for pointing that out so I didnt have to haha. And the MPAA and I dont really get along. I dont like how they run, and what they stand for. Its a government regulated form of saying they aren't censors while they are inadvertently causing censorship.

But outside of that Saawariya doesn't really have nudity. It has a brief less than one second view of his butt crack as he drops the sheet. Trusssssst me I paused and step by stepped that seen for awhile haha.

But that is pretty racy for an Indian film seeing as the rarely even kiss in Indian cinema

"But that is pretty racy for an Indian film seeing as the rarely even kiss in Indian cinema"

Are yo kidding? You need to watch more Indian movies especially the ones with Emran Hashmi. Those good ole days are gone when there was no kissing in Indian movies.

reply

It surprised me too. But you should see the film Sins, it came out about the same time. It is about a forbidden romance between an Indian Catholic priest and village woman. There is full nudity in the film. I think it was banned for a while.

reply

Saawariya is an art movie not commercial at all from every segment even the nudity. I didn't catch the nudity but I have nothing against his dancing with towel on. Or maybe SLB is promoting gay right? lol
