Funniest Moments

A friend of mine was telling me that he didn't see how this film is funny. I think that it is so realisitic and humaistic that the comedy isn't overbearing. For me the first big laughs were when they were talking about Becky being raped by the horse trainer followed by the scene when Margot is pushing and pushing autism issue. I love that she can't let it go and it cuts and the last thing we hear is the table being slammed, I found it brilliant. I also found a great deal of humor in the scene between Claud and Margot when she is sharing her distaste for Maisy. I'm interested to know what parts of the film others found humorous.

I'm sorry, I didn't find very much of it humorous. I found most of the characters to be kinda tragic in one way or another. There was the one time that Jack Black is wrestling with a bush. That was pretty funny. I noticed that in spots, it appeared that he was being directed to do or say things in his trademark comical way but that was the extent of "funny" for me.

I thouhgt Nicole Kidman was hilarious in some parts in this. When she's climbing up the tree and gets stuck and says "Sh!t!" or after the fire department comes to get her down and she's like "I GOT IT." And after when Margot was scratching her ear and her sister says something about it and Margot goes "There's a F!cking bug in my ear ok?!" And all of the references to that. Also the part when Margot and her husband pick up the woman with the dying dog and as she's crying in the back seat Margot was like "I can't STAND her."

I thought this was a fantastic movie and the comedy was so sardonic and dry. I love Noah Baumbach and i cant wait to see what he does next.

when margot tells everyone she never sits on toilets the camera cuts to ingrid and her face is priceless.

also, "stupids people always get into harvard early."

Any Scene with Jack Black. God he's a funny man.... "Walks off to get his crochet stick thing "*beep* you....... ......... "Shrugs himself"

"Stupid people get accepted early to Harvard all the time".

I thought the film had a lot of funny lines.

there were some funny wisecracks like the Harvard one, I think Jack Black had some as well.. BUT IMDB's rating this as a comedy, that's FUNNY! This is one of the most depressing/dark movies I've ever seen. (I liked it ;) )
